2024 has been a big one for Match My Project.
We asked each MMP team member to tell us about their highlight of the year.
Here are the moments we’ll remember 2024 by as a team:
Dan, Founder and Team Captain
It’s not been a bad year for Match My Project. We’ve brought some great people into the team, the product is much more solid, we’ve moved into a new office on Fish Island in east London and we’ve got a healthy pipeline for next year.
However, the best thing that happened this year was our away day in September. It wasn’t any of the work that was itemised on the agenda. It was one of the sessions in between the agenda items.
Sat around the table, we talked about where we found inspiration. Listening to what inspired other people not just in their day job but in their life was both inspiring to me, and moving. I didn’t realise until then how much I needed to hear it. We have had ups and downs on the team, like all groups of people that co-exist in each other’s orbit for any amount of time, but that memory will endure when the other stuff fades.
Ruth, Product Lead
This wasn’t a year of flashy updates, it was a year of creating solid foundations. Behind the scenes we delivered preventative security updates. Our stripped back product development team raised the game and met ambitious targets. And we ripped up our roadmap mid year to unblock users, but that’s another story!
It’s great to be able to work with people you like, do work you believe is important and be constantly learning. This year I’ve had conversations with so many remarkable people around the country working to create a fairer, more connected society and it’s a privilege to deliver tools for them.
Zahra, Delivery Lead
Our first in-person launch event with MTVH which was the first time suppliers and CBOs got together in one room and we were able to speak to them and learn from them.

Milica, Lead Developer
Bit tough to put it in a single sentence but I’d say the moments when I sat down to look back at what we’ve done and felt proud – when we agreed to bring Milos (senior dev-ops consultant) in to change the website infrastructure and dev processes, seeing those changes come to life, shipping the single-login work, and generally feeling like I lived up to the challenge and expectations.
If we are being strict and I have to choose a single event, I’ll say bringing Milos in – that meant a lot to me personally, while also making a huge (positive) impact on our projects too.
Bart, Marketing and Communications Lead
My work highlight of the year was Monday’s lunch with the team—taking a break to share stories, laugh, and talk about our lives outside of work.
We are saying goodbye to Bart at the end of the year. Thank you for all your hard work and the fun-loving energy you have brought to the team, Bart. You’ll be missed – but do pay us the occasional visit next year!
Laura, User Researcher
My highlight of 2024 was my trip to Wigan in the North West to visit Connolly Ltd., a supplier on MMP, Emma Needham from Onward Homes, and Pip from the Sale Sharks.
It was lovely to catch up with Andrea, Linda, Emma and Pip – I really enjoyed hearing about Social Value from different perspectives: authority, business and community organisation. I was shown very warm and welcoming hospitality and was even treated to a famous Wigan pie for lunch!

Jelena, Software Developer
I’ve really enjoyed working on the new project and seeing how quickly I’ve been able to make progress. It’s been great to contribute, and I’ve really appreciated how team-oriented everyone is.
I am working on making the platform more accessible to improve the user experience. This means making sure that people with disabilities can access information, use features, and interact with the platform just as easily as those without disabilities, so everyone can have the same experience.
